Fall Into Fashion

November 09, 2015

As the autumn weather approaches, I grab the Rubbermade tubs from the basement that I had just taken my summer clothing from, and bring it upstairs so that I can switch out all of the warm weather clothes for sweaters, pants, and long-sleeved t-shirts. It is pretty much the last goodbye to the summer.

Don't get me wrong, I love a good sweater, a warm scarf, and a beautiful pair of gloves as much as the next girl that is forced to transition to winter. I usually like to wear cardigans and sweater vests -- as I mentioned here -- but this year I found a light-weight sweater with cats on it that was too awesome to pass up.

Another favourite thing about transitioning to fall is being able to wear my boots again. I have a pair of tall riding boots, as well as these cute lace-up boots that I picked out a couple of years ago. I am also planning on going to find myself a pair of cute suede booties in a fun colour.

Accessories wise I find myself wearing more jewellery again -- because I don't have to worry about getting sunscreen all over them -- and I start having fun with different colours of eye shadow and nail polish. Another way to change with the season is to have some fun with your hair colour. Madison Reed has a colour advisor that helps you pick the right shade for your hair -- it's really fun to do too, and I love the colours that they suggested for me.

Fashion: What's Caught My Eye

August 02, 2013
I'm trying my best not to buy anything until I go on vacation, but I have been shopping a lot in my mind while browsing Pinterest. There are so many amazing ideas and pieces of clothing out there right now. I'm really excited with the direction that fashion is taking, I think it's made a lot of the right turns.

For now, my mind has been shopping for lace shorts, a seersucker blazer, leather sandals, an Aztec print skirt and a crochet top -- check out what else I love on my board Fashion, Ho! We'll see what I can find when I finally get to spend a little money!

What has caught your eye in fashion recently?

Not the Kind of Envelope You'll Find in the Mail

May 01, 2013
I love purses, almost as much as I love shoes and jewellery -- okay, equally. I'm not so crazy about purses that I have a whole closet dedicated to them, but I do like to have purses for different occasions and it's fun to buy a new one every once-in-a-while. My husband would probably argue that I have too many, though. One is enough, right?

Imagine my delight, or any woman's delight really, when I came across this fantastic green envelope clutch from B.Lush -- I tried so hard to find a website or information on the company. Yes, I already have a green purse, but it is not an envelope clutch. Justified. I found it at the gift shop in a hospital. That's right...in a hospital. It was on sale for 40% off and I just happened to have my Visa with me to buy some candy -- I have a problem. Kaching!

I'm looking forward to using it this Summer -- ahem -- while going to jazz concerts, festivals, and on dates with my husband.

Have you found any great accessories recently?

Etsy: Favourites at the Moment

March 04, 2013
I love looking around Etsy in search of art and other little items to wear or fill my home. Am I an addict? Well, I wouldn't go that far, but I do love to browse and dream. Here are a few of my favourites at the moment:

I am in love with this little art print. It reminded me so much of what my dog looks like curled up on our bed that I purchased it to hang in our bedroom.

St. Patrick's Day is on it's way, and this little pin would be a perfect way to add a speck of green to your outfit so you don't get pinched :)

The ballet flats from this shop are simply divine. I think I might have to finally break down and purchase this lovely pair. They're perfect for Sping, don't you think?

This hand-built porcelain vessel would be perfect for a bouquet of wild flowers. How can you tell that I'm starting to think a lot about Spring?

How precious is this little sleeping fox? Clearly I have something for sleeping animals. I have a weak spot for anything sleeping, really.

Which one is your favourite? I hope you had a great weekend!
