Today, He is 8 Months Old

December 01, 2011
Today my son is 8 months old. It has been amazing watching him grow from a tiny little being with absolutely no motor function or really any thoughts of his own, to be the little boy that I know him as today.

Over the past eight months, my son has discovered:

- Music. He dances whenever I sing, and he loves when I play music -- right now his favourite is "Sexy and I know it" by LMFAO. His face lights up when it starts up, and he shakes in excitement.

- Books. He gets so excited when we sit down to read books. He leans forward to get a closer look at the pictures, and he loves closing the book when we are done reading.

- Moving. He has been sitting for almost two months now, and he recently began bouncing up and down to skooch himself around. Soon he will be crawling because he has started going up on his hands and knees and rocking back and forth.

- Himself. He has figured out that hands are for touching, tugging, grabbing, hitting, eating, throwing and anything else that he can think up for his hands to do. He also likes to play with his feet -- eating them -- and he likes kicking his toys when they are close to him.

He is getting so big, and I love him more and more each day. I am so grateful for this little gift of life!
